A Worthwhile Cause

I was asked over on Facebook to spare a bit of my blog space to tell a story.  Well here goes:

I lost my Aunt to cancer in June of this year and I wanted to do something to help cancer charities and as my hubby and I already had our own little handmade card business we thought we could do something alongside this. We decided to create a range of photo cards where a percentage of each sale would be used to donate to a cancer charity. we have had friends and family donating photos for us to use and have so far created cards, keyrings , bookmarks and gift tags. My Aunts name was Doreen which is where the name Doreen's Dreams came from , we have had a custom made stamp made for the back of the cards - my cousin ( my Aunts daughter came up with the design ) we wanted the D of Dreams to be made to look like a butterfly as my Aunt loved butterflies, the butterfly will be coloured in according to what cancer charity we are supporting at the time, pink for a female cancer charity ,blue for a male one and brightly coloured for a childrens charity.
At the moment we are raising funds for Marie Curie as they provided support for my Aunt and her family.
we have been set up for about two weeks now and have already raised £12 for Marie Curie.

Most people in their lifetime get touched by the big C. I'm lucky thus far, it hasn't touched me or those close to me, but i'm aware that a few of my MSE friends are going through tough times at the moment.

I would love it for people on facebook to visitthe  facebook page and have a quick look.   Doreen's Dreams
